Thandwe Residents Change Professions

It is reported that many Thandwe residents, especially the young, are changing from the traditional livelihood like fishing and joining the hotel and tourism.
According to long time residents of villages around Thandwe this is due to the high costs of operating a fishing boat and also in processing the catch for the market.Consequently the traditional fishing industry in Thadwe area is declining.
